where to eat

BREAKFAST

We like to stroll down to French Memories for a morning coffee and pastry and sit out on the patio to enjoy. Chestnut Street Grille has some heartier options if that strikes your fancy. The muffins at Uncommon Grounds are drool-worthy.

LUNCH

French Memories, Duxbury Deli, Dorazio's, and The Foodsmith are all good options for sanwiches. A later lunch at Snug Harbor Fish Market is also always a good choice.

DINNER

Sit down at Winsor House or Sun Tavern. Pick up dinner from Snug Harbor Fish Market and enjoy on the patio. Mile Post has the best New England Clam Chowder in town. Have casual seafood at the oysterman followed by swoon-worthy homemade ice cream at Far Fars. Duxbury Pizza is the hometown hero of pizza places, though Peel probably has a better slice, if that's what you're going for. Cravings Cafe, Peel Pizza & Duxbury Pizza all deliver.

drinks

Winsor House is our go-to pub. Note, there are open container laws in the US!! The red solo cup was born from the need to conceal what exactly was in your cup.

ice cream

Get homemade Danish ice cream at Far Fars or try Scoops in Halls Corner.

grocery & BOOZE

Stock up on weekend supplies at Foodie's Grocery Store and Duxbury Wine & Spirits, both in Halls Corner.

THE BEACH

All roads lead to Duxbury Beach in the summertime. Parking is residents only and it can get busy so we'll often go to a more private beach down the road from the Sullivan house. Park at ours and walk over to Shipyard Lane to our favorite spot. You can also park at the big beach by driving to the Marshfield side, in Green Harbor. This is the next town over, which shares the beach and has public parking.

BEACH SHACK

Blakemans Fish Shack on Duxbury Beach serves up fresh seafood in a casual beach shack.

LONG WALKS ALONG THE WATER

Take a stroll or run down Washington Street, over Blue Fish River Bridge and hang a right down King Caesar and Powder Point along the water. We never tire of this stroll and doubt you will either.

WATER SPORTS

Explore Duxbury by water! DBMS offers classes and rentals of stand up paddleboards, kayaks, windsurf boards, etc.
